Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Banquet Server at Illinois State University. You will provide food and beverage services for catered events, from buffets to plated meals, delivering attentive, timely service.

This part-time role requires availability on any shift, lifting up to 50 pounds, and meeting local alcohol-service certification requirements. Prior banquet or hospitality experience is preferred, with training and benefits provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous banquet, catering, food service, or hospitality experience preferred.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to serve alcohol and comply with local regulations.
• Must maintain a valid TIPS or equivalent alcohol-service certification.
• A food handler certification may be required based on state/local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, service stations, and work areas during events.
• Clear tables, reset place settings, and assist with presentation standards.
• Ability to frequently lift and move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
• Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.
