Job summary

Orangewood Foundation seeks a Youth Dormitory Support Specialist (Evening) to supervise foster youth in a trauma-informed, family-style dorm setting. The role reports to the Program Director within the Youth Connected Program - Dorms and operates Sunday through Thursday evenings in a non-exempt, hourly full-time capacity.

Responsibilities include safety, relationship-building, and guiding youth in life skills, education, and personal development.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in relevant field preferred or HS diploma with two years’ experience in youth services.
• Experience with trauma-informed care and crisis de-escalation is required.
• Ability to communicate clearly with youth, families, and staff; reliable teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Maintain direct supervision of youth during evening hours to ensure safety and dormitory rules.
• Build trusting, supportive relationships and serve as a positive role model.
• Facilitate evening activities to develop life skills and independence; assist with homework/tutoring as applicable.
• Collaborate with program staff to monitor probation goals and youth progress; maintain clear communication with day staff.
• Document daily observations, incidents, and youth progress in designated reports; escalate issues promptly.
