Job summary

FedEx Logistics in Kentucky is seeking a Switcher/Package Handler to move trailers between yards and doors, assist with loading/unloading, and sort packages by hand when required. You will communicate with yard control, perform pre/post trip checks, and document movements using scanners or switcher cards to ensure accurate records.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, DOT file maintenance, and the ability to work safely in a noisy, hot or cold environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Ability to discern numbers to sort packages correctly.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers between yards and doors (switcher).
• Communicate with yard control to coordinate movements.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Load and unload packages as needed and sort by hand.
