Job summary

FedEx Corporation is seeking a yard switcher/package handler to move trailers and handle packages safely at the Kentucky location. You will switch, load, unload, and sort packages by hand as part of daily operations.

This role requires basic safety compliance, use of scanners and carts, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with potential exposure to heat, cold, fumes, and loud noise. Training and E-Verify are provided.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid drivers license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions regarding work duties and safety methods.
• Ability to discern numbers and information in order to sort packages correctly.
• Ability to use basic tools and equipment such as skate wheel rollers, dock carts, hand-held scanners, chutes and unloading devices.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers between yard and doors; hook and move parked trailers.
• Coordinate with management to plan trailer movements.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Follow yard switching safety processes.
