Job summary

Monarch Healthcare is seeking a Developmental Specialist in North Carolina to support individuals with mental health diagnoses, intellectual/developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders. You will assess hopes and dreams, build community connections, and promote self-determination while safeguarding rights.

The role includes facilitating advocacy, documenting progress, and guiding day-to-day home operations, transportation, and safety training.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• Valid USA driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Assess each person’s hopes and supports to facilitate achievement.
• Help people develop community relationships and natural supports.
• Assist individuals in fully participating in the community according to interests.
• Protect and promote the rights of people receiving services and support advocacy.
• Provide emotional, physical, and medical support as needed.
• Foster person-centered, positive relationships to promote self-determination.
• Contribute to assessments, planning, and implementing individual plans.
• Complete documentation including progress notes and incident reports.
• Assist with daily home operations: housekeeping, meals, laundry, shopping, and maintenance.
• Provide transportation as required and support safety procedures.
• Support staff orientation and training; overnight sleepovers may be required.
• Attend meetings and trainings; maintain certifications and comply with policies.
• Follow service definitions and complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
