Job summary

Scholastic Inc. is seeking a 2nd shift Warehouse Equipment Operator in Odenton, MD to operate stand-up forklifts and cherry pickers. The role runs 2:00 PM–10:30 PM, Monday–Friday, with a base pay of $19.50 plus $1.50 shift premium during eligible hours.

You’ll support book fair fulfillment for local schools and ensure safe, accurate inventory and packing. The job includes safety training, scanner proficiency, and physical demands such as lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be trained and licensed to operate power equipment.
• Requires forklift training completion.
• Ability to demonstrate scanner proficiency with minimal errors.
• Strong team player with good communication skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Operate battery/gas-powered equipment for moving product within the facility.
• Follow OSHA and safety rules, wearing PPE as required.
• Complete scanner tasks: replenishment, inventory put-away, cycle-counts.
• Maintain accurate inventory movement and orderly storage.
• Inspect and report unsafe conditions and damaged equipment.
• Assist in loading/unloading trucks and seasonal inventory resets.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and cooperate with teammates.
