Job summary

University of Vermont Medical Center is seeking a Specimen Processing Technician I to support daily operations in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. The role handles clerical, technical, and sample processing tasks across Clinical testing areas, with triage of various sample types for multiple pathology and cytology disciplines.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and prior laboratory experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports the daily operation of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine divisions.
• Performs clerical, technical, and sample processing for Clinical testing areas.
• Staff triage multiple sample types for Surgical Pathology, Cytology, Microbiology and Flow Cytometry.
