The University of Vermont Health Network is seeking a Specimen Processing Technician I to support the daily operation of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in Burlington, VT. The role includes clerical tasks, technical sample handling, and processing for Surgical Pathology, Cytology, Microbiology, and Flow Cytometry. Education required is a high school diploma or equivalent.

Laboratory experience is preferred. One weekend shift every four weeks is required.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position supports the daily operation of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine divisions. The Specimen Processing Technician I performs clerical, technical, and sample processing for the Clinical testing areas. Staff triage multiple sample types for the Surgical Pathology, Cytology, Microbiology, and Flow Cytometry.

EDUCATION:

High school graduate or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

Laboratory experience preferred.

WEEKEND COMMITMENT:

One weekend shift every 4 weeks.
