Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Laboratory Support Associate to perform routine procedures for collection, receiving, and processing of laboratory requisitions and specimens. You will handle data entry, labeling, and triage while following safety policies in a busy central processing setting.

Responsibilities include confirming manifests, logging accession numbers, answering phones, and assisting in inventory control.

Qualifications

• High School graduate with familiarity in data entry and medical terminology.
• Ability to answer phones and relay pertinent information accurately.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow lab procedures.

Responsibilities

• Receives and processes laboratory requisitions and specimens.
• Logs accession numbers and assigns paperwork to the correct workstations.
• Answers telephones and communicates pertinent information to teams.
• Performs routine lab duties including preparing reagents, slides, and labeling.
• Maintains accurate records and monitors inventory for assigned area.
