Job summary

The University of Vermont Health Network is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technician to support routine testing, specimen collection and processing, and reporting of results. The role includes QC, maintenance, and ongoing training to maintain competency.

Candidates must be licensed or eligible in New York, with microbiology experience preferred. A limited license allows temporary eligibility; full licensure must be obtained per NY guidelines. Shift coverage includes early and mid-day hours.

Qualifications

• Licensed or eligible as a Clinical Laboratory Technician in NY.
• Limited license must be obtained within NY guidelines.
• 5 years of Medical Lab Technician experience may move to Medical Laboratory Technician II.
• Microbiology experience required; if none, other candidates may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist Operations & Systems Manager in achieving efficient laboratory operation.
• Perform clinical tests, specimen collection and processing.
• Conduct quality control, maintenance, and verify results.
• Participate in training and in-service programs to maintain competency.
