Job summary

UVMMC - Medical Center - Main Campus seeks a Specimen Processing Technician I to support daily operations in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.

The role handles clerical, technical, and sample processing tasks across Surgical Pathology, Cytology, Microbiology, and Flow Cytometry. Part-time, evening shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM) with weekend commitment every 4 weeks. Benefits eligible; union position.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Laboratory experience preferred.
• Triage multiple sample types for Surgical Pathology, Cytology, Microbiology, and Flow Cytometry.

The Specimen Processing Technician I performs clerical, technical, and sample processing for the Clinical testing areas. Staff triage multiple sample types for the Surgical Pathology, Cytology, Microbiology, and Flow Cytometry.

EDUCATION

High school graduate or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

Laboratory experience preferred.

WEEKEND COMMITMENT

One weekend shift every 4 weeks.
