Pratt Industries in Rockwall, TX is seeking a Slitter Operator to manage setup, operation, cleanup, and continuous improvements on the slitter line. You will ensure on-spec production, perform changeovers, and coordinate with the wet end to optimize the process.

The role requires reading factory masters, speedily reading a tape measure, and basic math. Shift is 3:30pm–11:30pm, Monday–Friday, with overtime as needed. A safety-conscious approach and adherence to procedures are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
• Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
• Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate.

Responsabilités

• Enter information into computers to set machine for order changes, scores, speed, stack height, sheet count, and number of outs.
• Verify accuracy of information in computer.
• Execute order changes.
• Cross check board with corrugator dry end lineup or order scheduling computer display to ensure proper board test, size, scores, depth, color, and coating.
• Visually inspect board for quality and perform soak tests as needed.
• Set slitter to prepare next run to avoid overruns/underruns.
• Communicate adjustments to the wet end.
• Clear jams safely and assist in problem solving.
• Turn in maintenance work orders and stay proactive in equipment upkeep.
• Adhere to production schedule and assist in optimizing it.
