Job summary

Driftwood Hospitality Management seeks a PM Assistant Chief Engineer to support the Chief Engineer with daily operations of the hotel’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building systems, focusing on afternoon and evening shifts.

The role involves coordinating maintenance activities, responding to operational needs, and ensuring work orders are completed safely and efficiently across guest rooms, public areas, and facilities.

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of hotel maintenance operations.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude to diagnose and repair building systems.
• Experience in hotel Engineering or facilities maintenance is preferred.
• Ability to coordinate daily maintenance operations and guide staff.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and maintenance documentation.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Engineering Department operations during PM shift.
• Provide guidance to Engineering staff to ensure timely completion of requests.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance for guest rooms, equipment, and building systems.
• Prioritize and respond to maintenance requests to minimize operational disruptions.
• Maintain maintenance records and service histories.
• Assist with pool maintenance and water chemistry as applicable.
• Communicate updates to Chief Engineer and hotel leadership.
