Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a patient care technician to provide clerical and clinical support on the units, maintain patient records, manage supplies, and act as a communications hub for the care team.

Under the direction of a licensed nurse, you will care for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, monitor vital signs and hygiene, document data in the EMR, respond to patient needs, and help ensure a safe, comfortable environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or completion of sophomore year in high school
• One year of experience as a nursing assistant, patient care technician, or unit assistant preferred; nursing students may qualify without prior experience

Responsibilities

• Obtain and report basic patient physiological data (vital signs, weight, etc.)
• Maintain patient records and organize charts
• Assist with ADLs and basic care per unit protocol
• Monitor fluids in/out and document accordingly
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and requests
• Ensure a safe patient environment and comply with infection control practices
• Operate the EMR for patient information and updates
• Assist in coordination of care with nursing staff and other departments
