Job summary

Omni Hotels & Resorts in Fort Lauderdale is looking for an enthusiastic server to deliver exemplary food and beverage service in line with Omni standards. You will greet guests, present menus, take orders, input into MICROS, and ensure smooth service during peak hours.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of serving experience and strong English communication. Must acquire TIPS and ServSafe certifications; knowledge of wines, spirits, and beer helps.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year serving experience.
• Must acquire TIPS and ServSafe certifications.
• Developed knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer with experience selling and presenting wines.
• Previous cash handling experience required.
• Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers.
• Ability to input information into MICROS accurately.
• Ability to handle stressful situations with a calm, welcoming demeanor.
• Ability to work cohesively with co-workers within and outside of your department.
• Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer service, service recovery and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Omni rules, policies, procedures, and standards.
• Greet guests by utilizing the All-In impression standards.
• Set tables according to event type and service standards.
• Suggestively sell items and answer questions on menu selections.
• Communicate with culinary team regarding meal requirements and dietary needs.
• Record transactions in MICROS in a timely manner.
• Adhere to cash handling standards.
• Ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverage.
• Present accurate check to guest and process payment.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day.
• Station setup and breakdown/side-work.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
• Be pleasant, greet guests, using surnames when obtained.
