Job summary

Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel is seeking a friendly Server to join Tide Coastal Kitchen on the 10th floor, a refined poolside dining retreat above the Intracoastal. You will greet guests, take orders, upsell, and collaborate with the culinary team to ensure a welcoming, memorable dining experience for every guest.

Responsibilities include maintaining clean service areas, handling MICROS transactions, processing payments, and upholding Omni standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year serving experience.
• TIPS and ServSafe certifications required.
• Knowledge of wine, spirits and beer with selling experience.
• Cash handling experience essential.
• Clear English communication with guests and team members.
• Ability to input information into MICROS accurately.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations.
• Willing to work weekends and holidays.

The Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel is a 29-story hotel, located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, and connected directly to the Broward County Convention. The property offers 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a vibrant rooftop bar, a sprawling pool, spa, and fitness center. The hotel has over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 25 breakout rooms and pre-function meeting space with waterfront views.

Job Purpose: To provide exceptional and attentive guest service in accordance with Omni standards at Tide Coastal Kitchen, a refined poolside retreat elevated above the Intracoastal on the 10th floor, while creating a welcoming and memorable dining experience for every guest.

Essential Job Functions

• Adhere to all Omni rules, policies, procedures, and standards
• Greet guests by utilizing the All-In impression standards set forth by Omni
• Set tables according to type of event and service standards as directed by leadership
• Suggestively sell items and answer questions/offer suggestions on both food and beverage menu selections
• Communicate with culinary team regarding meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs and special requests
• Record transaction in MICROS system in a timely manner
• Adhere to cash handling standards
• Ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverage
• Present accurate check to guest and process payment
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day
• Station set-up and breakdown/side-work
• Perform any other duties as assigned by leadership
• Be pleasant, smile and greet all guests, using surnames when obtained

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year serving experience
• Must acquire TIPS and ServSafe certifications
• Developed knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer with experience selling and presenting wines
• Previous cash handling experience required
• Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers
• Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into MICROS
• Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor
• Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department
• Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent customer service, service recovery and problem-solving skills
• Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays

Environment & Position Analysis

• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Position requires frequent bending, reaching overhead, twisting, and consistent use of hands and arms
• Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift in indoor/outdoor environments
