Job summary

Servingschools seeks a 2nd shift Custodian for Wells High School in Wells, ME, to begin as soon as possible. The role supports a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and the community.

Responsibilities include opening/closing, climate control, cleaning, repairs, and grounds care. A Maine CHRC fingerprinting certification and a high school diploma are required; email applications are not accepted. Salary is $23.45–$32.54 per hour.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess strong organizational skills, the ability to work alone and with others, and handle multiple activities in a fast paced environment.
• Candidate must maintain positive relations with students, school personnel, and citizens at all times.
• Candidate must have knowledge of, or be willing to learn about chemicals, asbestos management, pesticides, indoor air quality and safety and material safety data sheets.
• Candidate must have aptitude or competence in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, vehicle and grounds repairs.
• Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the building each school day and ensure doors and windows are secured; lights off off unless needed for safety.
• Regulate HVAC to maintain suitable temperatures and conserve energy.
