Job summary

Hanover High School in Hanover, NH seeks a full-time custodian for 2nd shift (3:00 PM–11:30 PM) to provide a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students and staff. Start date is immediate; position is open until filled.

The role reports to the Director of Facilities and involves rotating duties, inspections, and basic maintenance. Responsibilities include maintaining floors, windows, restrooms, and building exterior, as well as ensuring doors are secured and alarms tested.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: a high school diploma or GED or five years experience is the minimum requirement for the position.
• Knowledge of building maintenance and safety practices as related to custodial work.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds and climbing ladders.

Responsibilities

• Keep building and premises neat and clean at all times, including sidewalks and play areas.
• Regulate heat and ventilation to maintain safe, economical temperatures.
• Perform physical tasks such as shoveling, sanding, and de-icing as needed.
• Inspect doors, locks, and panic bars; report repairs to Custodial Foreman.
