Servingschools seeks a Custodian for the 2nd shift at Skowhegan Area High School. This full-time, year-round position requires maintaining a clean, safe environment for students and staff, with responsibilities throughout the building.

Responsibilities include daily cleaning, dismissal prep, reporting maintenance needs, and occasional driving duties. The role emphasizes reliability, punctuality, and adherence to district safety policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or HiSET.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and assist injured students.
• Valid license for equipment to be driven.
• Satisfactory driving record.
• Demonstrated aptitude for assigned responsibilities.
• Approval by administration and Board of Directors.
• Other qualifications as deemed appropriate by the Board.

Responsibilities

• Keep the school building and premises neat and clean daily.
• Regulate heat and ventilation to provide comfortable temperatures.
• Shovel and sand walks and steps as needed.
• Sweep, mop and dust assigned spaces daily.
• Disinfect toilet floors and fixtures daily.
• Wash windows inside and outside at least twice a year.
• Maintain floors in good condition and report major repairs.
• Drive school vans when assigned.
• Remain on site during shift and secure building on leaving.
