Job summary

Hartford Hospital in Connecticut is seeking a Patient Care Administrative Nurse Supervisor. This 24-hour Eve Shift Leadership position oversees nursing departments on an assigned shift and ensures care delivery in line with nursing standards and regulations.

The role provides leadership in the absence of unit managers, guides performance improvement, and collaborates with Clinical Logistics to optimize bed availability and patient flow, while maintaining a positive practice environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
• 3 years of acute care charge or supervisory experience required.
• Critical care or emergency department nursing experience may be required.
• Active Registered Nurse license from the State of Connecticut required.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) provider credentialed from the American Heart Association.
• Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) provider credentialed from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Supervise nursing departments on an assigned shift.
• Provide leadership in the absence of the unit manager, director, or administration.
• Ensure appropriate delivery of direct and indirect patient care via the Nursing Process.
• Lead continuous improvement in quality and safety aligned with strategic priorities.
• Direct and implement evidence-based strategies to improve care delivery and outcomes.
• Collaborate to measure, evaluate clinical quality initiatives including processes and outcomes.
• Analyze data and prepare actionable reports for leaders and staff.
• Coordinate with Clinical Logistics Center to optimize bed availability and patient flow.
