Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care across patient ages, including ABG sampling, ventilator management, and high-flow therapies. The role requires precise documentation in the EMR and active participation in performance improvement initiatives.

The position is non-exempt, 7p–7a nights, with a 24-hour schedule and shift details that include every other or every third holiday.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved school of Respiratory Care.
• Licensed in Massachusetts in respiratory care, full or limited capacity.
• BLSHP certification required.
• Maintenance of CEUs as per MA licensure regulations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory care across all age groups per department policies.
• Document care activity and charges in the hospital EMR system.
• Participate in hospital and departmental performance improvement activities.
• Operate ABG machines and ventilators competently.
• Set up and utilize V60 NIPPV and High Flow Oxygen Therapy systems.
• Disinfect and transport non-disposable equipment.
• Adhere to hospital standards of behavior and complete annual competencies.
