Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is hiring a Respiratory Therapist for a day shift in Massachusetts. The role requires graduation from an AMA approved Respiratory Care program, MA licensure, and BLSP certification for Healthcare Providers.

The position involves delivering respiratory care across age groups and requires documentation in the EMR. You will operate ventilators, ABG procedures, and high-flow oxygen therapy, while maintaining equipment and following hospital standards.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an AMA approved school of Respiratory Care.
• Licensed in Massachusetts in respiratory care.
• Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLSHP).
• CEUs maintained as required by licensure in MA.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates excellent customer service.
• Documents care activity and charges in the EMR.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Maintains arterial blood gas machines and accessories.
• Sets up and uses all mechanical ventilators.
• Operates V60 NIPPV equipment correctly.
• Uses High Flow Oxygen Therapy systems proficiently.
• Disinfects, transports and sets up non-disposable equipment.
• Adheres to hospital Standards of Behavior.
• Completes annual competencies.
