Job summary

Pittsburgh Mercy, part of Trinity Health, is seeking a Residential Direct Care Advisor in the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities department. You will provide hands-on care and support to residents in our residential facilities, promoting well-being and independence.

This non-exempt, evening shift 2:30 pm to 10 pm includes personalized care planning, daily living assistance, and advocacy. Join a mission-driven team dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities to lead fulfilling

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or HS diploma with 1 year paid direct care experience.
• Valid driver license and ability to drive an organization vehicle.
• Access to transportation travel locally.
• Act 33/34/73 Clearances.
• Pre-Employment Drug Screen, Physical/TB.
• Must pass Department of Public Welfare Medication Training within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessments with residents and families.
• Provide hands-on daily living assistance including personal care, meals, medication management, and activities.
• Offer empathetic emotional and behavioral support with effective communication and de-escalation.
• Facilitate community engagement and social activities for residents inside and outside the facility.
• Advocate for residents and coordinate with external agencies and healthcare professionals.
