Job summary

Pittsburgh Mercy is seeking a Residential Care Advisor in our Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities department to enhance quality of life for residents in our facilities. You will provide compassionate, personalized care and support wellbeing.

The role involves creating individualized care plans, assisting with daily living tasks, managing medication, promoting independence, coordinating with families and a multidisciplinary team, and advocating for residents while contributing to program

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree OR High School Diploma / Equivalence with 1 year paid social services experience.
• Valid Driver License and ability to drive an organizational vehicle.
• Access to transportation travel locally.
• Act 33/34/73 Clearances.
• Pre-Employment Drug Screen, Physical/TB.
• Must pass Department of Public Welfare Medication Training within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Provide hands-on daily living assistance, including personal care and meal prep.
• Deliver emotional and behavioral support using de-escalation techniques.
• Facilitate community integration through social and recreational activities.
• Advocate for residents and collaborate with external agencies and the care team.

Education
