Job summary

Pittsburgh Mercy is seeking a Residential Support Specialist for the Evening shift to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live fulfilling, independent lives within a supportive home environment.

You will develop personalized care plans, assist with daily living tasks, support positive behaviors, engage residents in community activities, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to monitor progress and promote well-being.

Qualifications

• Driver's license and ability to drive an agency vehicle required.
• Ability to pass ACT 33/34/73 clearances required.
• Pre-employment drug screening, physical exam, and TB test.
• Completion of Department of Public Welfare Medication Training within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Personalized Support: Develop and implement individualized care plans reflecting each resident’s needs, goals, and preferences.
• Daily Living Assistance: Help residents with essential daily tasks such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication administration, and household responsibilities.
• Behavioral Support: Collaborate with the care team to implement positive behavioral strategies for a calm, respectful living environment.
• Community Engagement: Organize and participate in recreational outings, social events, and community activities to foster inclusion and connection.
• Team Collaboration: Work with healthcare professionals, therapists, and support staff to ensure a holistic, coordinated approach and share progress observations.
