Job summary

Pittsburgh Mercy, part of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, seeks a Residential Support Specialist to provide compassionate, person-centered care for residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a supportive home setting.

Responsibilities include developing individualized care plans, assisting with daily tasks, implementing behavioral supports, and coordinating with a care team to promote independence and inclusion.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive an agency vehicle
• Ability to pass Act 33/34/73 clearances
• Pre-employment drug screening, physical exam, and TB test
• Completion of Department of Public Welfare Medication Training within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Personalized Support: Develop and implement individualized care plans reflecting each resident’s needs and preferences
• Daily Living Assistance: Help residents with personal hygiene, meals, medications, and household tasks
• Behavioral Support: Implement positive behavioral strategies with the care team
• Community Engagement: Organize recreational outings, social events, and activities
• Team Collaboration: Coordinate with healthcare professionals, therapists, and staff to support progress
