Job summary

Pittsburgh Mercy is seeking a Residential Care Advisor in the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities department in Pittsburgh. You will craft individualized care plans and provide nurturing daily support to residents in our residential facilities.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living, medication management, and organizing community activities, while collaborating with families and a multidisciplinary team to improve quality of life for adults with IDD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma with 1 year paid social services experience.
• Valid driver license and ability to drive organization vehicle.
• Access to transportation for local travel.
• Act 33/34/73 clearances and pre-employment drug screen.
• Must complete medication training within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized care plans with residents and families.
• Provide daily living assistance, including personal care and activities.
• Offer emotional and behavioral support with de-escalation techniques.
• Facilitate community engagement and social activities for residents.
• Advocate for residents and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
