Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, MD seeks a Registered Radiologic Technologist to join our care team. The role involves performing diagnostic imaging per protocol, documenting in HIS/RIS/PACS, and maintaining ALARA safety practices while protecting patient confidentiality.

Ideal candidates hold ARRT(R) with Maryland license and BLS, and prefer 1 year of radiography experience. This per diem position offers evening shifts and flexible scheduling to support patient care needs.

Qualifications

• High school or GED
• Graduate of AMA/JRCERT accredited Radiography program (preferred)
• 1 year radiography experience preferred
• ARRT(R) RT(R) credential
• Maryland Radiation Technologist license
• BLS certification required (AHA)

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic imaging studies per protocol.
• Identify patients, review orders, select appropriate x-ray protocol.
• Document in HIS/RIS/PACS accurately.
• Monitor and assist patients pre-, during and post-exam.
• Maintain ALARA principles and shielding.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and child/adult safety.
• Explain procedures to patients and answer questions.
• Maintain flexible schedule to accommodate volume.
• Assist in orienting new staff and students.
• Participate in PI projects and other duties as assigned.
