Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center in Gaithersburg, MD seeks an experienced CT Technologist for the CT Department. The role involves performing CT exams per radiologist protocols, operating the CT scanner and related equipment, and assisting in interventional procedures.

Requirements include MD radiation license with ARRT CT, AMA/JRCERT Radiography education, BLS, and ideally 1 year CT experience. Per diem schedule with weekend and shift details as posted in the notice.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT accredited school of Radiography.
• 1 year CT experience preferred.
• Maryland Radiation Technologist license, ARRT (CT).
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT examinations per radiologists' protocols.
• Operate CT scanner and related equipment within the CT department.
• Assist radiologist and staff in interventional procedures.
• Understand principles and dangers of IV/oral contrast administration.
• Identify contraindications to IV contrast and monitor for reactions.
• Document CT studies in HIS/RIS/PACS and related systems.
• Maximize patient throughput and coordinate transport as needed.
• Provide general patient care within the CT department.
• Assist in orienting and training new staff and students.
