Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center, part of Adventist HealthCare, seeks a Registered Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging per protocol and ensure high-quality, safe patient care. The role requires ARRT certification, state license, and BLS, with a per diem schedule at $45/hour.

Responsibilities include assisting patients, maintaining documentation in HIS/RIS/PACS, and supporting training of radiography students.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT Accredited school of Radiography or an associate degree in Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT R.T.(R) certification and Maryland State Radiation Technologist license are required.
• BLS certification is required at hire and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic imaging studies per protocol and identify patients, review orders and select appropriate x-ray protocols.
• Document in HIS, RIS, PACS and other systems.
• Monitor and assist patients before, during and after examinations; maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Follow ALARA principles including proper shielding of patients.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient, organizational and employee information.
• Provide care appropriate to pediatrics, geriatric and adolescent patients.
• Explain procedures to patients and answer questions; manage schedule with flexibility.
• Assist in orienting new staff and radiography students; participate in PI projects.
