Job summary

Compass Housing Alliance is seeking a Program Assistant in Auburn, WA to observe and respond to guest activity, maintain a safe environment, and support trauma-informed service delivery. The role collaborates with the program services team to assist residents and ensure 24/7 supportive housing operations.

The position emphasizes safety, crisis de-escalation, and compassionate engagement with adults and couples, with a unionized work environment represented by OPEIU Local 8.

Qualifications

Trauma-informed approach to care and safety.
Experience in de-escalation and crisis intervention.
Strong written and verbal communication; maintains confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Provide trauma-informed monitoring of activity to ensure safety and comfort for guests and staff.
Mediate conflicts and de-escalate crises; refer to services as needed.
Assist with meals, laundry access, group activities, and other program tasks.
Engage guests to assess needs and provide information/referrals.
Report building needs and ensure supplies are stocked.
Monitor security and log incidents for coordination with management.
