Job summary

The Pines at Placerville Healthcare Center in Placerville, CA is seeking a Part-Time PM Shift Registered Nurse (RN) to lead the nursing team, oversee medications and treatments, and ensure high-quality resident care during the afternoon and evening hours. Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current, active California RN license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Strong communication, organizational, and clinical decision‑making skills.
• Knowledge of nursing practices and regulations applicable to long‑term care.
• Ability to meet physical and job‑related requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the nursing team and coordinate resident care during the PM shift.
• Help ensure appropriate staffing for RNs/LVNs and CNAs.
• Provide guidance, support, and direction to nursing staff.
• Make sound independent clinical decisions and respond appropriately to changing resident conditions.
• Conduct rounds and monitor residents’ physical, emotional, and clinical status.
• Maintain a calm, respectful environment throughout the shift.
• Communicate important resident and staffing information to the Director of Nursing and incoming shift.
• Help ensure a smooth and thorough transition to the NOC shift.
• Provide compassionate, resident-centered nursing care.
• Assess residents and promptly recognize and respond to changes in condition.
• Notify physicians and responsible parties of significant changes as appropriate.
• Administer medications and treatments according to orders, care plans, and facility policies.
• Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules for accuracy and completion.
• Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.
• Perform vital signs, assessments, IV starts, and specimen collection as ordered.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed.
• Monitor residents requiring increased observation or clinical attention.
• Work with residents and families to address questions, concerns, and care needs.
• Promote resident dignity, safety, comfort, and quality of life.
