Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Milford, MA is seeking a Lab Support Tech I to collect blood samples, assist with specimen handling, and support front-line lab operations. You will perform phlebotomy, help with test ordering, and greet patients with professional care.

The role requires a high school diploma (ASCP preferred) and strong English communication. The schedule is 2:30pm–11pm with every third weekend rotation and potential signing bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; ASCP certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license preferred; phlebotomy training beneficial.
• Experience with hospital information systems and test ordering is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and perform phlebotomy procedures (blood cultures, venipuncture).
• Collect specimens, label, and prioritize per protocol; ensure accurate receiving.
• Support clerical tasks, specimen registration, and test ordering in HIS.
• Answer calls, provide coverage, and assist with additional duties as needed.
• Maintain clean work area, restock supplies, and ensure PPE compliance.
