Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Lab Support Tech I to join the night/evening team (2:30pm-11pm) in the hospital lab. This full-time position involves phlebotomy, specimen handling, and clerical duties, with weekend and holiday rotation.

The role requires a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and preferred phlebotomy experience. A signing bonus may be available; final offers depend on hours, experience, and equity considerations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy training or experience preferred.
• ASCP certification or eligibility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects blood samples across age groups using venipuncture techniques.
• Receives and labels specimens; prioritizes STAT, STROKE, CSF per protocol.
• Maintains organized work area and restocks supplies.
• Registers courier-delivered specimens; troubleshoots printer issues as needed.
• Orders tests and uses hospital information systems accurately.
