Job summary

Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Inc. is seeking a Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist for the 6pm–6am shift in the EMRMC Laboratory.

Under the supervision of the laboratory manager, you will collect venipuncture, capillary, and arterial specimens and perform basic procedures as proficiency develops. This full-time position requires strong patient interaction, accurate documentation, and adherence to safety practices.

Qualifications

• One year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy, CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or equivalent educational background preferred.
• Certification by approved educational program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects laboratory specimens by venipuncture, capillary puncture, and arterial puncture for testing.
• Performs basic test procedures under supervision.
• Maintains accurate documentation and timely transmission of results.
• Prepares registration forms and supports clerical tasks in the lab.
• Coordinates and supports lab customer service and specimen transport.
