Job summary

Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist for EMRMC on the 6pm-6am shift in Kentucky. The role performs a broad spectrum of laboratory analyses, maintains high-technology equipment, and ensures data validity to support diagnosis and treatment.

Responsibilities include specimen processing, QC, and contributing to CAP accreditation standards while prioritizing patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• ASCP registration as MLT or equivalent within 1 year of employment.
• Associate’s Degree of Science (MLT) (ASCP); completion of approved clinical rotations, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Performs a wide variety of clinical laboratory analyses according to established standards.
• Performs quality control studies to ensure validity of data.
• Maintains equipment and work area to ensure quality results and safety.
• Collects and processes laboratory specimens for tests.
• Assists technicians, students, and other associates as needed.

Education

Associate’s Degree of Science (MLT) (ASCP); completion of approved clinical rotations, or equivalent
