Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Lab Support Tech I to join the Phlebotomy team. You will perform phlebotomy, register specimens, and support the lab workflow in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities include specimen collection, processing, telephone support, and maintaining a well-organized work area with attention to safety and accuracy. Training and growth opportunities are available within the health system.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy experience preferred and beneficial.
• Strong computer and keyboard proficiency for data entry and results in LIS.
• Fluent English communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples using venipuncture techniques across age groups.
• Register and prioritize specimens in the computer system.
• Provide telephone support and assist with departmental communications.
• Restock supplies and maintain a clean work area.
• Perform phlebotomy procedures including blood cultures and EKGs as assigned.
• Ensure PPE usage and comply with safety protocols.
