Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification through a nationally recognized organization or CMA certification, or one or more years of phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting.
• Experience with venipuncture and processing lab specimens.
• Familiar with EMR systems and patient communication.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and lab specimen collections per age-related standards across department policies.
• Adheres to the AIDET model and optimizes patient safety to reduce errors.
• Receives and reviews physician orders; enters accurate orders for lab tests per policies.
• Performs clinical and clerical duties including order entry, result verification, and data management.
• Maintains safe work environment and proper biohazard waste handling.
• Communicates test results and issues to Laboratory/Physician as appropriate and supports team teamwork.
