Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a full-time Phlebotomist for a client site in Edwardsville, IL. The role is 38 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, 8am–6pm, performing venipuncture and specimen processing with emphasis on accurate order entry and patient care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification through a nationally recognized organization or CMA certification.
• Experience performing phlebotomy in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Familiar with EMR systems.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and lab specimen collections per age related standards and policies.
• Demonstrates patient communication and safety principles to minimize errors.
• Receives and reviews physician orders; enters lab orders per policies.
• Communicates results and coordinates with patients and staff.
• Prepares and handles specimens; maintains accurate records and equipment.
