Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a dedicated Phlebotomist for a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position at a client site in Glenview. The role runs Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and involves venipuncture, specimen processing, and order entry across multiple systems.

The Phlebotomist will provide excellent customer service, work as part of a team that puts patients first, and adhere to ethics and compliance policies. Education: high school diploma; certification in phlebotomy preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification through a nationally recognized program, CMA certification, or 1+ year phlebotomy experience.
• Familiarity with EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and venipuncture per age-related standards and dept. procedures.
• Operates and maintains equipment; ensures specimen integrity and proper labeling.
• Enters orders and reviews test results; handles clerical tasks and lab reception duties.
• Demonstrates AIDET model and emphasizes patient safety.
• Maintains a safe work environment and adheres to biohazard procedures.
