Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Patient Care Technician I to join our hospital care team. This non-exempt, full-time role offers a 32-hour week with a 3:00 PM–11:30 PM shift and an evening schedule.

You will assist RNs, perform vital signs, basic tests like EKG and POC, help with daily living activities, and maintain patient safety. Requirements include a high school diploma, BLS, English proficiency, and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school education or GED.
• BLS certification within 30-days.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English clearly.
• Basic computer skills and medical terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Communicate observations to the RN promptly.
• Provide constant observation for high-risk patients.
• Help maintain a safe environment and de-escalate when needed.
• Assist with daily living activities and mobility.
• Record vital signs and basic measurements accurately.
• Support treatments and procedures with equipment setup.
• Observe and document intake, outputs, and patient comfort.
