Job summary

CCMC Camden Clark Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include vital signs, hygiene, specimen collection, and maintaining a safe environment; interacts with licensed staff and supports admissions, transfers and discharges. Prior CNA or PCT credentials are preferred; weekend and evening coverage is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire date.
• Must meet one of the following: Nationally certified patient care technician; WVUM Patient Care Technician program; Current CNA certification issued by state where services are provided.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports patient concerns/changes in condition to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assists the RN with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Records vital signs and assists in personal hygiene and other patient comfort measures; records intake and outputs.
• Assists in specimen collection and other activities of assigned patients.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.
• Reports equipment repairs to appropriate personnel.
• Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostics per procedure.
• Communicates nutrition issues to RN.
• Assists department with administrative tasks and answers patient call bells.
