Job summary

CCMC Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, WV, seeks a dedicated CNA to provide direct and indirect patient care under supervision of a registered nurse. You will support admission, discharge, and routine care while maintaining patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include vital signs, hygiene support, specimen collection, and coordination with licensed staff. Must obtain BLS within 30 days and hold CNA certification or WVU PCT credential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire date.
• Must meet one of: national PCT certification, WVU Patient Care Technician program completion, or active CNA certification in the service state.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports patient concerns to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assists the RN with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Records vital signs and assists with hygiene and patient comfort; tracks intake/output.
• Assists in specimen collection and other patient activities.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment to prevent infection and ensure safety.
• Reports necessary equipment repairs to appropriate personnel promptly.
• Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures per procedure.
• Communicates nutrition issues to RN, such as appetite changes or diet understanding.
• Assists department with administrative tasks to support operations.
• Answers call lights and relays messages to appropriate staff.
