Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Must have demonstrated strong customer service skills.
• Prior experience in healthcare, insurance-related, or comparable level.
• Must be able to multitask and prioritize.
• Ability to follow instructions; work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have basic PC skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, typing 30 wpm.
• Articulate and concise oral communication and the ability to write clearly and concisely.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a culturally diverse staff and patient/family population.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Ability to work onsite in Oakland, Thursday through Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. (40 hours), including holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verify identification.
• Check-in and register patients with demographic and financial information.
• Coordinate escorts for arrival and guide patients to services.
• Handle cash collection and posting as appropriate.
• Utilize hospital information systems to communicate with patients and visitors.
• Adhere to Medical Center Policies and Procedures.
