Job summary

UCI Health is looking for an Admitting Representative to support the patient intake process. You will interview patients, gather demographic and insurance information, obtain authorizations, and ensure accurate registration for efficient admission.

The role requires prior acute care hospital or related experience, knowledge of medical terminology, and strong customer service and computer/typing skills. You will work within the Admitting department to maintain throughput and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Previous acute care hospital or related experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge in Medical Terminology.
• Previous Admitting registration or Business Office experience.
• Previous Customer Service experience.
• Computer and typing skills.

Responsibilities

• Interviewing patient or patient representative to obtain required identifying data for registration.
• Obtain authorizations and collect monies on cash accounts or accounts with deductible amounts due.
• Complete Admitting packets with all appropriate forms for the department and obtain signatures on registration forms.
• Perform insurance verification on accounts via data validation or passport and coordinate with departments as needed.
• Review registrations through ICE Single Account for accuracy and document pertinent information.
• Distribute registration paperwork to appropriate departments and coordinate with HIS, RBO, and Case Management.
