Job summary

Vassar Brothers Medical Center is seeking a Part-Time Patient Access Registrar for evenings (20 hours/week). You will greet patients, verify demographics and insurance information, schedule appointments, and handle payments.

The role requires strong customer service, basic MS Word/Excel skills, and familiarity with EMR systems. Responsibilities include registration, insurance verification, and providing estimates for services.

Qualifications

• HS diploma required with at least 2 years of related experience.
• Associate degree preferred with 6 months related experience.
• NAHAM certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and/ or physicians, staff, and guests; check-in; provide direction based on appointment location and status.
• Respond to phone calls and provide information; assist scheduling and reduce wait times.
• Identify patient in hospital system to ensure accurate records (EMPI).
• Schedule and register services per protocols; obtain additional information as needed.
• Enter demographic and financial information to support payment collection.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain required billing information.
