Job summary

Tanner Health is seeking a part-time Patient Access Specialist to facilitate the intake process, including pre-registration, registration, insurance verification, and documentation completion at multiple locations within the system.

The role requires strong public relations and communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment, and proficiency with basic computer systems. Evening shifts 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., three days weekly with weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• Excellent public relations and communication skills; maintain good relations with co-workers, hospital staff, patients, families and third-party payers.
• Ability to make independent decisions, display emotional maturity, and use sound judgment.
• One year of customer service experience preferred; ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding knowledge preferred; medical terminology knowledge preferred.
• Able to work well in a team-oriented environment and to follow a variety of operating procedures.
• Organize for maximum time utilization and patient flow; handle high-stress, fast-paced environments.
• Proficient use of computer equipment and accurate reading/writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates quality and efficient patient intake through pre-registration and registration processes; assists with insurance and precertification verification; completes documents and POS collections; reviews work output.
