Job summary

Northwell Health’s Danbury Hospital is seeking an empathetic Patient Access representative for part-time scheduling and registration. The role ensures a smooth, one-touch registration and accurate demographic/financial data capture to support patient care and billing.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, scheduling, insurance verification, collecting patient liabilities, and initiating payor transactions. Working hours include evenings and every other weekend, with potential holidays.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required with 2+ years related experience.
• Associate degree preferred; NAHAM certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, physicians, staff and guests professionally and direct accordingly.
• Respond to calls and provide information per standards to reduce hold times.
• Search and verify patient identity in EMPI to ensure accurate records.
• Schedule and register appointments following clinic protocols.
• Verify insurance eligibility and communicate patient liabilities clearly.
