Job summary

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required with 2 years related experience; associate degree preferred.
• Experience in customer service and using MS Word/Excel.
• NAHAM certification within 1 year of hire is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and check in; direct to appointment location; respect confidentiality.
• Respond to calls per customer service standards; reduce call metrics with best practices.
• Search and select patient records to maintain EMPI accuracy.
• Schedule appointments per protocols and contact patients to confirm details.
• Enter demographic and financial information for billing and payments.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain payor information as needed.
• Provide service cost estimates and discuss patient liability.
• Enter testing orders and understand coding and charge master.
• Obtain required signatures for consents/notifications.
• Maintain compliance with department policies and HIPAA requirements.
• Fulfill all compliance duties related to HIPAA, EMTALA, and Patient Bill of Rights.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
