Danbury Hospital is seeking a Part-Time Patient Access representative to facilitate registration and scheduling, ensuring a smooth, one-touch experience for patients from admission through payment. The role involves greeting patients, verifying demographics and insurance, and entering data into EMR systems.

Responsibilities include handling insurance verification, obtaining authorizations, and collecting patient liabilities while adhering to HIPAA and departmental policies.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma with minimum 2 years job related experience.
• Associate degree with 6 months job-related experience - Preferred.
• Minimum Experience of 1 year preferred in a job-related experience.
• Basic MS Word & MS Excel.
• Customer Service and organizational skills.
• NAHAM certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and staff promptly and professionally; direct to appointment location.
• Respond to calls per customer service standards and provide information.
• Search and select patient in hospital system while ensuring accurate identity.
• Schedule and register services following protocols of scheduling systems and EMRs.
• Enter demographic/financial information to secure payment for services.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain required payor information and authorizations.
